Manchester United fever is gripping the town as Oakwell prepares for one of the most hotly anticipated games in recent years later this month when the Reds line up against the men from Old Trafford in the Carling Cup.
BARNSLEY manager Mark Robins gave his thoughts ahead of the clash with Manchester United.
Mark told Barnsley Player: "A lot of people have always speculated about that goal against Nottingham Forest all those years back but the manager sent out a team to win the game and we did that. We won it and he (Sir Alex Ferguson) has gone on to win 30 trophies so I am proud to have scored that one.
"I have spoken to Sir Alex on a couple of occasions but it is not something I do on a regular basis. I think we both have a lot on our plates really but he would probably be the first place I go for any advice. I have not spoken to him since the draw has been made.
"We have had plenty of games in between and we have tried to keep this one at arm's length really. I have not really thought about it but I have learned a lesson and you cannot do that.
